A unique programme delivered using the Arsenal Soccer Schools’ coaching philosophy. It is open to fans of all clubs and all abilities. This programme allows boys to meet new friends, find the fun of playing soccer and improve football skills. The programme includes soccer seminars around diet and nutrition, psychology, team tactics and what makes a great player. All the coaches are in possession of Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) qualifications, in order to ensure quality of teaching. The programme also includes an exciting guided tour of the Emirates Stadium in London.
The Arsenal Soccer School programme gives the opportunity to improve their football skills under the guidance of Arsenal football coaches. The course is open to players of all abilities and fans of any club! Coaching and training sessions are carried out in small groups and aim to develop the player the 'Arsenal Way', focusing on their skills, teamwork, positive mental attitude.
The key skills learned are:
Teamwork skills - communication, spatial awareness, movement and vision, adaptability and cover
Physical skills - passing control, dribbling, running with the ball, heading, tackling, attacking and defending team play
After completing the course, each participant would be awarded with a certificate and a souvenir from Arsenal Soccer Schools.
The course consists of a minimum of 20 hours of soccer coaching each week, catering for players aged 10-17 years at all ability levels who want to develop as footballers. Soccer seminars are given, topics ranged from diet and nutrition, psychology, team tactics or formations, to what makes a great player. All coaches are UEFA qualified and experienced in bringing out the best in young players.
English Language classes are provided to students to facilitate their soccer training, or use soccer to teach general English and communications skills, e.g. listening to match commentaries, reading newspaper reports, watching player interviews. Classes are communicative, and involve working in pairs, role-play and language games.
A full-day excursion to Arsenal Football Club's Emirates Stadium with a tour of the ground and entrance to the Arsenal museum.
Students receive 20 lessons of English lessons per week (15 hours), taught by qualified teachers in classes of a maximum size of 16 students. Students are tested on arrival, and placed in classes with other students of approximately the same level. Teaching materials have been developed specially for the soccer course by experienced teachers.
