The Art & Design Summer School is held at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts (CSVPA) in the heart of Cambridge. CSVPA is the UK’s leading provider of Art & Design, Drama and Music pathway programmes, helping students make ambitious decisions about their futures. The School provides a state-of-the-art, purpose built campus for many Art & Design disciplines including Photography, Fashion and Film. Students make use of darkrooms, fashion studios, cutting and dye rooms and Mac suites. A large dining room and outdoor patio form the heart of Bridge House campus.
They also have a dedicated team of activity organisers that will help you make the most out of your spare time in the UK, including excursions to London, visits to museums and art galleries, outings to theatres, cinemas and concerts and a variety of sports.
It is ideal for students at all levels of acting ability, who want a fun introduction to Drama or Theatre Studies. Our two-week Summer Schools introduce a range of different drama techniques in a fun, safe and active environment. They will also improves your confidence, self-esteem and communication skills. You can choose the area of theatre that appeals to you most, or, if you are considering a career in drama, you can extend your range by trying a number of different disciplines.

The first week of each specialism focuses on building towards a performance, which takes place during the second week. Students can attend the first or both weeks, but cannot join the performance for the second week only.
This popular, fun and challenging course is led by theatre professionals, all of whom have musical theatre credits in London and / or New York. Students can expect 35-40 hours of rigorous and intensive classes per week in singing, dance and acting, geared towards a cabaret-style performance at the end of the second week.

This two-week course is ideal for students who want an intensive and fun introduction to drama and acting techniques. In the first week, professional actors lead students through drama exercises designed to help develop creativity, spontaneity, freedom and authenticity in performance. In the second week, the ensemble work together to rehearse a short production, performed for an invited audience. International students should have at least an Upper Intermediate level of English and can choose to combine their specialist weeks with separate weeks of Intensive English.
Students stay in residential accommodation (College Houses) about 20-25 minutes' walk from the campus. All College Houses are closely vetted and supervised by trained staff; they vary in size, accommodating from 5 to 40 students. Most rooms are single with private shower / wc.
Students have breakfast, lunch and evening meals in the new cafeteria on campus at Bridge House. Students with special medical or religious dietary requirements must inform us when booking. Packed lunches are provided on full-day excursions.
What is included and what is excluded? The fee includes the tour fee (tuition, materials, social events, and excursions), all meals, accommodation, and local travelling but excluding travel insurance, airport transfer and round-trip airfare.
